The Education Collaborative is hosting a hands-on train-the-trainer workshop on Giving Voice to Values (GVV) to build teachers’ capacity to teach skills in ethical action from July 6th – 7th. The two-day virtual workshop will introduce participants to the GVV curriculum, which teaches tools in voicing one’s values in schools, in the workplace and in all aspects of one’s life.
Workshop Description
Most people believe that they will be asked to do things in their careers that will conflict with their values, they know such situations will be stressful, and they don’t feel prepared to act when those situations arise. Assuming we can distinguish right from wrong in a particular situation, Giving Voice to Values addresses the next step: “how can I speak up and be heard?” The two-day workshop will introduce participants to the Giving Voice to Values curriculum, taught at Ashesi University since 2010, which teaches tools in ethical action. Registration closed on 4th July, 2020. Participants received a certificate of completion, and became eligible to receive a micro-grant to customize the training for more facilitators in their organization. Also, participants received teaching resources and will formally join the Education Collaborative’s Ethics Curriculum Community of Practice to develop resources on ethics education in Africa.
