Our focal areas reflect the pressing developmental needs and trends in higher-education in Africa. They drive the strategic priority areas of member institutions in the network.
Designed and hosted in collaboration with exemplar member institutions, projects drawn from the Focal Areas seek depth in engagement and impact for participants in building lasting systems.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Through this focus area, we explore, share, and implement methods to enable institutions to have the tools and know-how to create, evaluate, and sustain a range of institutional and infrastructural systems that nurture creative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit in students to solve problems.
ETHICS AND LEADERSHIP
For institutions to raise ethical leaders who will lead industries, and transform economies in Africa, there is the need for value-driven and ethical leadership training. The Ethics and Leadership focus area features a mix of programs tailored to suit the African context for capacity building in ethical action and leadership.
CAREER AND EMPLOYABILITY
This focal area helps higher education institutions to develop lasting and transformative systems that improve their graduate employability outcomes. It employs a systems approach tailored to suit the needs of each institution.
