Workshop: Leveraging alumni relations for effective career development initiatives in HEIs

Description: Institution-Alumni relations and collaboration has been one of the most untapped resources in most African HEIs. This workshop will engage participants in developing tools on how to effectively leverage their alumni to identify and offer employment opportunities and act as a springboard for students’ creativity and purpose when forming their individual career paths. It will consider strategies for recent and senior alumni. 

Expected Outcomes: This is a practical hands-on and case-based session. At the end of the session, participants will be able to do the following: 

• Acquire knowledge and skills on how to keep track of the graduates sustainably. 
• Learn and develop tools and approaches to leverage alumni status, and place in the industry to increase students’ access to internships, apprenticeship programs, and careers. 
• Identify indicators for success in HEIs Alumni engagement strategy for career development.
