Regional Hubs

Transforming higher education in Africa through context-relevant programs and solutions

The Regional Hub Approach

When The Education Collaborative visualized reaching 1M+ students in 2030, we knew we couldn’t achieve this by ourselves and needed like-minded partners to help actualize this goal. The Collaborative takes a bottom-up approach where regional hubs drive context-relevant programs and solutions for higher-ed stakeholders in the region. Regional hubs are owned by the institutions in each region. A regional hub not only ensures the realization of the vision of reaching 1M students in 2030 and transforming them into ethical, entrepreneurial leaders who solve Africa’s myriad challenges, it ensures the sustainability of this goal even after the initial target has been actualized.

West Africa Hub

Operationalized in 2022 and hosted by Pan-Atlantic University, The Education Collaborative’s West Africa Hub brings together partner institutions based in the West Africa Region. Starting with nine institutions, it now has expanded to encompass over 36 institutions across seven countries. The hub has committed over 148 000 USD to various innovations, projects, and initiatives within the region, from 2021 to date.

The West Africa hub is estimated to impact over 407,680 students within the decade.

East Africa Hub

Started in August 2021, the East Africa Hub brings together The Education Collaborative’s partner institutions based in Eastern Africa. Starting with 9 institutions, the East Africa Hub has currently reached over 24 higher education institutions from 4 countries across the region with over 650 000 USD committed to various innovations, projects and initiatives to date.

The East Africa hub is estimated to impact over 454,720 students within the decade.

Southern Africa Hub

Over the past year, there has been growth in engagement and membership within the Southern Africa region. The Education Collaborative looks forward to forming new relationships and strengthening institutional engagements within the region. We believe that each new connection will bring more opportunities, innovative ideas and the transformational growth for higher education in Africa. Stay tuned for more updates from the Southern Africa hub.
