Career Strategy Workshop – Call for Facilitators

La Atelier de stratégie de carrière aims to guide higher education institutions to develop an effective strategy for their career departments to foster career readiness among students. The 3-day sessions are designed to provide participating institutions with a structured framework to enhance and optimize their career centers or start one from scratch. Ultimately, the initiative empowers educational institutions better to prepare their students for the competitive changing job market.

The workshop is organized twice yearly during Regional and June Convenings. In the June Convening year, the workshop is organised in June and November. It is held in March and October during the West Africa Hub Convening and East Africa Hub Convening respectively.

The Education Collaborative is calling potential mentors who will become a source to select facilitators to run future workshops.

Responsibilities of a Career Strategy Workshop Facilitator

1. Assess the current state of the career department of enrolled institutions 
2. Co-facilitate the 3-day workshop and guide institutions to develop a one-year career engagement strategy.  
3. Review strategies and organize check –in sessions to monitor progress post workshop
4. Provide a report on engagement and provide recommendation for improvement on structure and documents used in facilitating the workshop

Exigences

1. Expertise and relevant experience in career services strategy development and execution in a reputable higher education institution in Africa
2. Prior facilitation experience
3. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Onboarding Details

1. Attend and contribute to facilitate the 2024 Career Strategy Workshop from September 30 – October 2, 2024, in Dar-es Salaam Tanzania. Participants arrive on September 29, 2024. All selected facilitators unable to attend will be invited to the session in June 2025.
2. Participate in a one-day online training from experienced facilitators
3. Participation fee will be covered including flights
4. Facilitators who may want to attend the EA Convening would be required to pay for registration
5. All facilitators trained are mandated to train new facilitators at no charge
