Ethics & Leadership Track: Workshop: How to Develop and Facilitate Giving Voice to Values Cases

Traditional approaches to ethics education lack an emphasis on rehearsal—an important way individuals build competence and confidence in new skills through practice. Giving Voice to Values fills this gap by engaging learners in prescription and roleplaying values-based action through GVV case exercises. This session will use the innovative “fishbowl” method to demonstrate GVV case facilitation, scripting and roleplaying activities, and peer feedback. Workshop participants will also learn the characteristics of a good GVV case and how to select or develop GVV cases suitable for different contexts and audiences.
