Applied Research for Sustainable Development: Challenges, Strategies and Progress
No one can deny the importance of applied research in promoting sustainable development. In this workshop, participants were given the opportunity to gain the confidence to question current research methods pedagogy in Higher Education Institutions and were provided with a deeper understanding of The Education Collaborative’s approach to applied research.

Thus, this session explored how faculty members can apply these tools in their teaching practice to enhance student learning.

Effective Pedagogy and Instructional Design: Methods for establishing Student-Centered and Engaging Learning Experience
The session explored the current trends in teaching and learning to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, competences, and tools required to design and deliver effective learning experiences for learners. Participants also learned how to identify their students’ needs, preferences, and learning styles, and how to integrate technology and active learning strategies to create effective and engaging learning experiences.

Building Work-Ready Graduates through Industry Collaborative Partnerships and Network
This session explored how to create collaborations and networks with industry and other Higher Education Institutions to build institutional capacity. The workshop examined successful partnership-building and networking models in four institutional settings and identified the benefits and drawbacks of developing collaborative partnerships and networks, and shared successful models and tactics. The facilitators also explained how to incorporate partnerships into curriculum development, teaching, and learning.
