Virtual and in-person platforms for sharing innovations and strategies among higher-ed stakeholders in Africa
The Annual Convening is the central platform for all stakeholders in African higher-ed to share innovative resources and strategies for the advancement of the sector. Held in June every year at Ashesi University, the week-long event harnesses the collective expertise of institutions and educators on ways to create an educational system that supports the development agenda of the continent.
June 2021 Annual Convening
Held online, the 2021 convening brought together some 300 participants from over 100 organisations and higher ed institutions across the globe. Jointly organized by Ashesi University, Kepler, Centre for Social Innovations Ghana, University of Gondar and Ayenit Alolom Africa, the three-day event featured plenary sessions, workshops and talks focused on entrepreneurship, employability, and diversity and inclusion within African higher educational institutions.
The annual convenings thrive on identifying the needs of participants and offers a hands-on approach using the strengths from experts and resources on the continent and beyond. Activities and events are designed to reflect the diversity of our stakeholders and provide the best of impact for the participants. There are learning opportunities for university executives, faculty and administrators, and other stakeholders.
