As we continue to navigate the pandemic, there is a stronger need for collaboration to increase institutions’ impact in transforming Africa’s higher-ed sector.
This year, our programs and engagements will focus on entrepreneurship, employability, ethics, and leadership development. Here’s a quick snapshot of the year ahead:
Annual June Convening
Mark your calendars from June 13th to 17th for a gathering of over 300 university leaders, faculty, regulators, and industry professionals at our Annual June Convening in-person at Ashesi University and online. Engage in workshops, speaker sessions, symposiums, and round table discussions across tracks in entrepreneurship ecosystem development, entrepreneurship pedagogy, career and employability systems development, and ethics and leadership.
Giving Voice to Values Africa Online Course
Join industry professionals around the continent to build confidence and competence in values-driven leadership through the Giving Voice to Values Africa online curriculum. Developed by Ashesi University, the curriculum teaches effective approaches to addressing ethical conflicts, and shares insights from Dr Tamaklo, Managing Director, Nyaho Medical Center, Patrick Awuah, Founder & President, Ashesi University, and Mansa Nettey, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana who discuss how to create a workplace culture where it is safe to talk about values and bring up issues of concern.
Systems Change Program for Employability Pilot
“The goal is for participating institutions to set up structures that support career services if they are yet to. If they already have career services structures in place, the goal is to strengthen them.” – Rose Dodd, Director, The Education Collaborative.
In October 2021, the Systems Change Program for Employability pilot was launched. Collaborating institutions are Education Sub-Saharan Africa, Strathmore University, Kepler, Ashesi University, Burkina Institute of Technology (BIT), University of Cape Coast, and Rwanda Polytechnic, IPRC Gishari.
